Life Beyond Earth: Are We Blind to What We Seek?

Will we ever be able to find life outside our planet ? I feel like the answer is no! and why is that? Because we are searching for life forms that we know of. We are trying to find organisms that behave in ways that life behaves on our planet. Our tools, our experiments, our entire approach is designed based on the biology that exists here. But what if life somewhere else is completely outside our understanding? What if it defies our biology, chemistry , and physics ? What if something can be alive and still remain invisible to us? Maybe there are life forms that have nothing to do with nitrogen, oxygen, or carbon dioxide . Maybe they use carbon monoxide , or something we can’t even imagine. How would we know that it’s alive? How would we judge it? How would we prove it? We will only find life when we stop searching for life that looks like us and start searching for anything that behaves like life ,even if it follows rules we don’t yet understand.
